Babeș-Bolyai University (BBU) is a public comprehensive and multicultural university, whose main campus is located in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. With an academic tradition starting in 1581, BBU is today the largest university in the country and one of the best and most representative Romanian universities. At national level, BBU has been awarded the title of “Advanced Research and Teaching University” and was ranked the best Romanian university in the national meta-ranking of the Ministry of Education/Ad Astra Association of Romanian Scientists (2016-2020). At international level, BBU is a constant presence in international rankings as one of the most successful universities in Eastern and Central Europe. In 2018, BBU was awarded 4 stars in the QS Stars University Rating system and was granted the “HR Excellence in Research” award by the European Commission. From 2020, BBU is member of The Guild, which comprises 21 of Europe’s most distinguished research-intensive/world-class universities.
