Abstract:
Smart materials have one or more properties that can be modified using specific methods and techniques. The project aims to develop a joint Hungarian-Romanian research platform in the field of smart and other new materials which will support the development of fundamental research projects. The platform will integrate 3 laboratories, 2 at the University of Debrecen with the purpose of investigating smart and composite materials at macro and micro levels and 1 laboratory at the University of Oradea where nano-scale properties can be analyzed. Integrating the knowledge of the project partners, the main objective of the project is to create a bilateral platform in the field of new materials, by building a structural base which supports the development of new joint research projects.The joint team will define the organizational structure and research and educational strategies of the platform, renovate the laboratories, acquire the necessary equipments and integrate in the platform.

Abstract:
Antioxidantii obtinuti din plante, datorita continutului lor ridicat in polifenoli, vitamine antioxidante (A,E,C,K) si minerale (Se,Cu,Zn,Cr,Mn) sunt potentiali candidati in combaterea stresului oxidativ. Extractele din produse vegetale au un rol important in incercarea de a combate actiunea radicalilor liberi pentru a nu se declansa sau a se accentua stresul oxidativ - in unele cazuri efect profilactic, in altele efect curativ.
Obiectivele proiectului:
1. Caracterizarea din punct de vedere al continutului in polifenoli, flavonoide, antociani si minerale a urmatoarelor plante din flora spontana: Catina( Hippophae rhamnoides), Afine (Vaccinum Myrtillus), Salvie (Salvia officinalis) si Galbenele (Calendula Officinalis).
2. Elaborarea unor doze optime din aceste plante pentru a obtine un supliment nutritiv cu activitate antioxidanta cat mai inalta.
3. Elaborarea formulei de preparare a suplimentului sub forma de capsule
Descrierea serviciului
In prima etapa se va efectua extractia si izolarea polifenolilor, flavonoidelor si antocianilor din plantele mai sus amintitite, precum si analiza in vitro cantitativa spectroscopica UV-VIS.
La fiecare produs vegetal se va determina potentialul antioxidant in vitro (prin trei metode diferite: DPPH, FRAP, ABTS), cantitatea in compusi polifenolici, prin metoda Folin-Ciocalteu si continutul in metale prin SAA.
In urma analizelor vom stabili raportul optim din plantele luate in studiu, astfel incat activitatea antioxidanta sa fie cat mai inalta.
La formularea capsulelor scopul este realizarea unei formule cu dozaj cât mai exact, cu o bună biodisponibilitate şi fără dificultăţi de preparare.
In ultima etapa se va realiza incapsularea amestecului de produse vegetale in raportul stabilit.
Necesitatatea obtinerii unei astfel de produs deriva din dorinta de a valorifica plantele vegetale din zona, si posibilitatea folosirii acestui supliment pentru reducerea incidentei bolilor cardiovasculare, diabetului zaharat, cancerului etc.

Abstract:
Unwanted results of the spread of the industrial activities are the pollution of both the soil and the ground-water, which also have huge effect on the health of the human-beings all over the word. It is know that the polluted ground-waters and the soil-gases contaminated with volatile compounds are harmful to the health. Today there are no modelling systems which can evaluate and systematize the huge amount of data from the microbiological processes of the contaminated soil.
The leader partner of this project is the Bay Zoltán Foundation for Applied Research for Biotechnology. It has been working on the background of bioremediation and with the analysis of it on basic and applied levels. The result, so far, have showed that the foundation`s biotechnological toolkit is not enough alone to find out more about these processes. Bioinformatics and mathematical knowledge is needed to do so. In this project the University of Oradea, Romania has the knowledge with which such a data collection and processing system can be realized which permit the realization of real environmental model systems. The consortium, aiming at the realization of the project, is based on the cooperation of an independent research institute and university group. The consortium is lead by the LP.
In order to realize the task each member of the consortium deputes a project-leader to the Project Steering Committee, who ensure the cooperation with regard to all field between the research leaders of each consortium.
