From time immemorial, freedom seems to be the most valuable feature of people. The social philosophy of the West is, in essence, a philosophy of freedom, on which

all human prosperity and civilization have been built. But, over time, a series of doctrines have disrupted the true meaning and virtue of freedom. Almost all the

doctrines that underpinned the totalitarian regimes claimed to offer individuals freedom. Their simple review indicates an impressive exercise, but not necessarily

sufficient. What really matters is the understanding that the efforts of philosophers and scientists aimed at the need for a theory of freedom, with the purpose of

defining the fundamental criterion for evaluating society, transforming it into a more just, better society.
