Abstract:
NOWADAYS, AN INCREASING ATTENTION IS DEDICATED TO INSURING THE QUALITY OF ELECTRIC ENERGY (QEE) AND TO SAVING ELECTRIC ENERGY. THE NOTION OF QEE IS ATTRIBUTED TO A SERIES OF ASPECTS AND PHENOMENA THAT SPREAD FROM THE CONTINUITY OF POWER, DIFFERENT PERTURBATIONS OF THE WAVE FORM FOR VOLTAGES AND CURRENTS, TO THE MANAGEMENT OF ACTIVITIES CONCERNING THE ECONOMIC QUALITY. QEE IS AN IMPORTANT INDICATOR IN ESTABLISHING THE PRICE OF ELECTRIC ENERGY. USING DIODE THREE-PHASE RECTIFIERS (TPRD) FOR AC/DC CONVERSION IS RISING, AS 15%-20% OF THE ENTIRE ELECTRIC ENERGY PRODUCED BEING PROCESSED THROUGH SUCH ONE QUADRANT CONVERTERS. THE DISADVANTAGE OF A TPRD IS THAT IT INTRODUCES SUPERIOR CURRENT HARMONICS OF UNNACEPTABLE VALUE INTO THE POWER NETWORK. THE PASSIVE AND ACTIVE FILTERS THAT LOWER THESE HARMONICS ARE NOT OPERATIONALLY SAFE, HAVING POWER LOSS AND HIGH COSTS. THE THREE RNSIC (RECTIFIERS WITH NEAR SINUSOIDAL INPUT CURRENTS) CONVERTER VARIANTS PROPOSED BY OUR TEAM IN 5 ISI-RANKED WORKS HAVE THE FOLLOWING PROPERTIES: (1) THEY DO NOT REQUIRE PASSIVE OR ACTIVE INPUT FILTERS AND (2) THEY HAVE HIGHER YIELD AND OPERATIONAL SAFETY. A NEW CONVERTER WITH 2 QUADRANT OPERATION (C2Q) IS PROPOSED IN THE PROJECT, MADE OF A RNSIC AND 6 CONTROLLABLE SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICES WITH CONTINOUOS OPERATION (NOT PWM). THE C2Q CONVERTERS HAVE THE FOLLOWING PROPERTIES: (1) HIGH YIELD, (2) ALLOWS TO RECOVER THE BRAKING ENERGY OF THE ADJUSTABLE ASYNCHRONOUS MACHINES THEY POWER, (3) REDUCED EMI PROBLEMS.
