Abstract:
The objective is to build a software decision tool platform to accelerate CC(U)S adoption and lower carbon capture cost by implementing the chemical absorption technology in a societal acceptable way. The proposed solutions will cost 25-50 EUR per ton CO2 captured, with purities suitable for utilization or geological storage. The solution will be demonstrated in UPB laboratory and a conceptual solution will be provided for different industrial partners (cement or steel industry) for different CO2 content: 8-40%. The aim is to develop and build a CO2 capture technology based on chemical absorption with >85% efficiency removals. With this technology the OPEX for solvent capture technologies is reduced by 10-15%. At the demonstrations the joint solutions will be extensively tested and evaluated (social, technical, economical, safety, etc). The data generated, the assessments made, and the simulation tools used both in CAPSOFT and other projects will fill a newly built open-source software platform. Through one or two simulations, this platform tool will be validated ensuring replication elsewhere. As the software platform grows, its value and effectiveness increases for all users. The project aims to bring the different solutions to TRL 5. The dissemination activities are aimed in positioning the solutions alongside other sustainable solutions like solar and wind. The DEMO’s, OITB, the software tool, and the dissemination and exploitation activities ensure that project results will be replicated globally.

Abstract:
FLEXITRANSTORE (An Integrated Platform for Increased FLEXIbility in smart TRANSmission grids with STORage Entities and large penetration of Renewable Energy Sources) aims to contribute to the evolution towards a pan-European transmission network with high flexibility and high interconnection levels. This will facilitate the transformation of the current energy production mix by hosting an increasing share of renewable energy sources. Novel smart grid technologies, control and storage methods and new market approaches will be developed, installed, demonstrated and tested introducing flexibility to the European power system.
FLEXITRANSTORE will promote increased cross-border electricity flows using the valorization of flexibility services. The project takes both a national and a regional approach, acknowledging the need to seamlessly integrate national markets, particularly in the South Eastern European network, which still lacks the high interconnectivity that the rest of the European network has.
The FLEXITRANSTORE project is in line with the ETIP-SNET 10 year R&I Roadmap and the ENTSO-E R&I Roadmap 2017-2026, which identify the main evolutions of the power systems in the decades to come. These evolutions include an ever-increasing penetration of Distributed Renewable Sources and controllable Distributed Loads. The objectives of FLEXITRANSTORE are complementary to the R&I Roadmaps and will impact both new and existing market participants. FLEXITRANSTORE will provide the necessary technical and market advancements to facilitate the safe and seamless transition towards this new era.
FLEXITRANSTORE will develop a next generation Flexible Energy Grid (FEG) which will be integrated into the European Internal Energy Market (IEM), through the valorization of flexibility services. This FEG addresses the capabilities of a power system to maintain continuous service in face of rapid and large swings in supply or demand. Thus, a wholesale market infrastructure and new business models within this integrated FEG should be upgraded to network players, offering incentives to new ones to join, while demonstrating new business perspectives for cross-border resources management and energy trading.
FLEXITRANSTORE will transform the European Power System through interventions that target the whole Energy Value Chain.

Abstract:
The project concerns to develop a system for automatic monitoring of 3 biological parameters (EEG, ECG and pulse oximetry), permanently wearable by the patient, the acquired data being permanently sent to a monitoring center, were the patient is managed by an automatic assistance platform. This means more than a polysomnography monitor (PSG) or a monitor for some biological parameters, usable in monitoring patient’s health status. The system is a wearable solution for monitoring the patient’s health 24hours a day, transmitting the collected data via mobile phone (Android and iOS platform) to a monitoring center, where an eHealth platform manages the patient’s health status information. Basing on these data, routine or emergency interventions reduce time considerably. The beneficiaries of this system are monitored patients, aged people and monitored healthy subjects. Currently socioeconomic progress within the European Community, involves the monitoring of the health of some increasingly wider categories in the social (elderly) and professional field (persons engaged in special activities at high risk) so the realtime monitoring could be critical for many beneficiaries.

Abstract:
The project addresses the implementation and validation of the prototype, a new product intended to be use on the railway infrastructure, a critical infrastructure of national economy. Making a smart traffic light with LEDs, which can be embedded directly in the railway signalling, brings new innovative elements related to increase reliability, minimal possibilities of external disturbance, monitoring from long distance, ensuring a increased security of the railway infrastructure. The adopted solution complies all the safety requirements and standard sets by the rules of the railway domain by being technically competitive due to the intelligent elements incorporated.
Starting with the technical solutions carried out by partners in the form of blocks tested in the laboratory, the equipment will be carried out and tested at small scale that integrates the research of the academic partner. The critical analysis of the results and technical corrections nedded allows the realization and the testing of the build-scale prototype which will be tested under similar conditions as those in operation.

Abstract:
The project is aimed at solving important problems arising in the implementation of the technology of electric lines, namely studying the conditions of occurrence of defects at composite insulators. The existence of these insulators is extensively in the structure of the Transelectrica installations and problems that have arisen through electrical and mechanical faulties require the trader to modernize production testing methodology. In this respect, it appeals to the expertise of the collective research at the University Politehnica of Bucharest, which will carry out an analysis of the functioning of the composite insulators for distribution lines based on the determination of electric field. On the basis of a specialized software package will be analyzed the composite insulators indicated by the operator, will be sent to a database with the structure of distribution of electric field lines at insulators and fingerprint lines of electrical field will be used for analysis and automated verification of composite insulators.

Abstract:
The project aims to overcome the limitations of current INS/GPS integration schemes and to improve the positioning accuracy during GPS signal blockages. It is fitted in a new research trend regarding the using of ANFIS techniques to obtain high precision low-cost INS/GPS integrated navigation systems. We intend to develop some intelligent data fusion algorithms in order solve some open issues in the field: Prediction of the positioning errors during GPS signal outages by using ANFIS and Kalman filtering; Prediction of the mislaid GPS reading data by using ANFIS. We aims to provide high supremacy methods to combine different data rate GPS with INS data without sacrificing performance even if using low cost inertial sensors. Feasible, new mathematical models and intelligent data fusion algorithms will be developed, and further software implemented in order to obtain some optimal architectures for INS/GPS integrated systems. Also, some INS/GPS hardware structures with low-cost MEMS based inertial measurement units will be developed and experimentally validated. Finally, a functionality demonstration for INS/GPS developed navigators through testing and experimental validation in various detection scenarios will be performed.
