Abstract:
The aim of the project is to introduce and study classes of quasi-quantum groups. Using techniques from the theory of monoidal categories and/or (co)actions of (quasi-)quantum groups, we want to obtain new classes of pivotal, fusion, ribbon, modular, etc. categories for which to subsequently compute various invariants. The scientific objectives and the research directions are in concordance with the current scientific interests of the team members: Frobenius-Lusztig kernels, Nichols, shuffle and wreath type quantum groups; invariance under a given deformation, within a monoidal category, of some quantum groups; balanced and/or spherical structures; L-R crossed products. The expected results add to those already obtained by the project members or various groups of foreign researchers, in the effort to characterize and classify (quasi-)quantum groups, to compute certain topological invariants, to obtain new TFT theories, to determine solutions for certain systems or equations that come from mathematical physics.
The project has a high level of originality and its team consists of researchers with experience in the field, recognized both domestically and internationally. The results obtained during the project are expected to have a great impact in the field and to be published in journals with a high impact factor.
The team consists of 6 experienced researchers and 1 junior researcher (to be hired later).
