Abstract:
The project DocTalent4EU: Transforming Europe Through Doctoral Talent and Skills Recognition is part of Horizon Europe: HORIZON-WIDERA-2022-ERA-01-50. In this project, TUIASI is in an active partnership with 7 other European universities, the Côte d'Azur University being the coordinator. The project will develop digital credentials under the European brand "DocTalent4EU credentials", licensed under CC-BY-NC, to enable widespread recognition of transferable skills and competences acquired by PhD students and early career researchers (ECRs) , with reference to the ESCO classification. To ensure compliance with high standards and quality assurance, DocTalent4EU credentials will be created and issued under the guidance of a Scientific Committee consisting of 7 representatives of the academic sector (directors of CSUD or doctoral schools for each academic partner in the consortium), as well as 7 representatives of the nonacademic sector (among the partner companies). This funding request supports the project budget by increasing the number of trips for the exchange of best practices, improving the IT infrastructure for teaching-learning and financing the pro bono staff within CMT-TUIASI and promoting CMT-TUIASI.

Abstract:
The complex project SUSTENVPRO has as main objective to increase the institutional consortium performance in the field of Environment, by supporting/developing the existent research competencies and transfer capacities of results with applicative/innovative potential.
The project is implemented by 4 Universities, 1 Institute affiliated to the Romanian Academy and 1 R&D National Institute under consolidation and incorporates 5 research projects, within an integrative, multidisciplinary, original and sustainable framework, based on the following research directions: 1. Development and validation of innovative methods used in complex assessments on priority pollutants present in various water matrixes and assessment of environmental&human health risk; 2. Innovative and efficient processes development applied in water and wastewater treatment for priority organic and inorganic pollutants removal; 3. Novel materials (polymeric, composites) development applied for the efficient elimination of priority pollutants; 4. Valorisation of organic waste (biomass) and inorganic waste (metallic wastes) materials in innovative wastewater treatment for priority pollutants removal and water reuse/recycle applications; 5. Sustainability evaluations of water and wastewater treatment technologies and novel materials production/valorization by using life cycle assessment.
SUSTENVPRO complex project envisages the following result indicators: 10 new jobs created in research(ENI), 4 patents applications, 6 new/significantly improved products and technologies, 7 new improved research services/ERRIS, 20 vouchers A1&A2 for existing infrastructures common usage, 23 research stages/study visits for young researchers and 26 for senior researchers (B vouchers), 16 research/training stages for the R&D National Institute consolidation (C vouchers), 1 common R&DI Program in correlation with individual partners R&DI plans, 17 articles submitted to ISI ranked journals.

Abstract:
The main objective of the WATUSER project is to develop and implement an integrated system of innovative technologies and management instruments for reducing environmental impacts and associated human health risks caused by water quality aspects in the entire water use cycle: water abstraction, treatment, distribution, use, wastewater collection, wastewater treatment and discharge/reuse. The project implementation consortium includes 2 prestigious Romanian Universities: “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi, which acts as coordinator and Politehnica University of Timisoara, together with 2 important partners from the regional water operators network: SC APAVITAL SA from Iasi and SC AQUATIM SA from Timisoara.
For the successful achievement of the main goal, 2 research directions are proposed for the development of:
• innovative technologies for water and wastewater treatment in order to respond to specific water quality problems;
• a coherent framework of innovative assessment and evaluation instruments that will enable the identification and abatement of environmental and human-related impacts and risks over the water use cycle.
The major novel project features are:
a) Integration: the environmental, technical, operational and management problems are approached within the water use cycle in an integrated and coherent manner. The integration perspectives of the project refer to multiple aspects: firstly, to the water related problems on the entire water use cycle at the level of regional water operators, taking into consideration the inter-relationships in the complex natural environment–technological anthropogenic system, as well as the spatial-temporal variability of water quality and availability; secondly, the framework of objectives and activities integrates assessment studies with technological development and testing at pilot scale which enables the improvement of regional water operators management as well as the evaluation of the development perspectives of water and wastewater services for small communities.
b) Multidisciplinarity: the project activities address problems in multiple science areas related to water resources management: environmental management (water resources management, impact and risk assessment, water footprinting, life cycle assessment, environmental performance indicators) and engineering sciences: chemical and environmental engineering (electrochemical processes, advanced oxidation processes, membrane processes), computer engineering (integrated monitoring system for water related impacts and risk surveys design and implementation).
c) Originality, novelty & innovation: the project develops an integrated system of management instrument and technological developments to tackle water related impacts and risks on the whole water use cycle at regional level.
