Abstract:
With immigration a growing, permanent and fractious part of the EU’s reality, integration is of foremost concern for policy-makers in Europe, and schools are recognised as an essential part of social stability and a key aspect of integration policy both at national and EU level. Schools provide crucial education for integration and citizenship, long term directly affecting social status, professional achievement, economic earning power and students understanding of cultural morality and societal principles, allowing both the individual to prosper, and the state and EU to benefit and build on their potential as a valuable new resource.
School safety, building inclusion and preventing bullying for all students is central to integration and their well-being. Yet in the face of a far more diverse society schools face challenges that they are largely not currently supported for. The scientific measures of school safety used today are outdated and do not reflect a modern, multi-cultural, multi-faith, Europe, while school communities are working in a fragmented, individualised manner in the areas of inclusion and bullying prevention.
This proposed COST Action aims to: enhance collaboration between stakeholders to update, enhance and pilot new ‘real world’ scientific measures and approaches, collate evaluated interventions and approaches around inclusion and bullying prevention to disseminate a comprehensive program/handbook for schools and a guideline policy document for authorities, building capacity, and working holistically towards ensuring the integration, safety and well-being of all students in EU secondary schools, to aid in the social stability of both the individual and society.

Abstract:
The JM module "Sustainable education through European Studies for Young Researchers" (SESYR) aims to integrate the vision of the EU on research sustainability using the two dimensions of the European research strategy – 'sustainability' and 'entrepreneurship' in all doctoral strategies and programs.
The project contributes to the development of theoretical knowledge in the field of EU studies for young researchers and will focus on identifying solutions to the real problems of the EU scientific and business world.
The module is aimed at first year doctoral students (105 PhD students in three years of project). The main activities involve 2 intensive training courses for the target group with the purpose of aligning our research to the EU standards and requirements; also, it targets to train researchers for an integrated, competitive and dynamic labor market. The course materials meets the needs of the target group and will relate continuously and systematically to a learning tool. Through the newsletter provided 2 times a year we will deliver to all participants’ synthetic information on the project. The research outcomes is materialized in 2 peer-reviewed publications and 1 volume, which will be of great importance for the university and the entire academic community. The transfer of good practices and the exchange of experience will be obtained through a study visit in an EU institution. Face-to-face debates during round table, workshop, poster sessions and a conference give the opportunities to share knowledge, build a bridge between young researchers and professors and also explain our research findings to all the people interesting in the field, in terms of outputs, results and/or products.
The proposed module implements the sustainability approach by providing the support needed to understand the context of the integration into the European labor market and the experience of other EU doctoral schools.

Abstract:
In a period of restrictions for public budgets, major demographical changes and continuous growth of national competition, regional competitiveness, its capacity to create new jobs to replace the ones lost during the crisis and, overall, the future standard of living at regional level, depends on the regions’ capacity to stimulate innovation in the field of products, services, models and social and commercial processes. Despite the considerable resources allocated throughout the entire European Union to stimulate technological development and innovation, the success recorded in improving the innovative potential and growth stimulation was limited. The main arguments behind these results comprised human capital or the excessive distance to the technological borderline. We believe that, along these factors, the actors’ perception on the quality of governmental institutions is directly responsible for the creation, dissemination and implementation of new technologies as well as the inhibition or not of entrepreneurship spirit.
The current research attempts to contribute to the line of analysis of the impact on the governmental institutions’ quality perception on entrepreneurial activities and the innovative capacity of regions, as well as to the identification of sectors with a clustering potential in view of consolidating the competitiveness of spatial agglomerations.
We are convinced that the results of research will directly inspire public central and local administration by the formulation of a set of recommendations designed in the spirit of increasing institutional quality. Outlined in this manner, the study may be the starting point of future research and the normative impact may turn out to be decisive.

Abstract:
ISTEW brings together 7 partners from 6 countries. The aim of the project is to develop shared academic and practice based programmes to enable European universities to develop improvement capability within their own healthcare workforce by engaging with students based on an agreed scope of practice, essential knowledge base, and improvement science competence across partner countries.
The project aims also to promote greater European-level cooperation amongst educators of health professionals, health providers, and key policy/decision-makers, through a structured process of coaching/ mentoring from partner organisations, thereby contributing to a greater understanding of important issues around the education of multidisciplinary healthcare workers in light of the changing demographics and challenges to population health. Educational materials developed will be available to health education providers across Europe, increasing the potential for mobility amongst practitioners as well as teaching staff and students.
