Abstract:
The drive electric motors of fans don't require any maintenance work
The feeding of the fans electric motors hasn't any contactors
The upgraded ventilation system for the Traction Electric Motors uses the same PLC, display and memory card as the electric ventilation system of the cooling radiators
The upgraded cooling system consumes 3 times less energy than the original one
After the upgraded version of the cooling installation was mounted inside the locomotive the front gap of the Traction Diesel Engine & Main Generator group increased.

Abstract:
When the Traction Diesel Engine has a temperature bellow the optimum operating temperature the current ventilation system will control the closing of the inside and outside grille shutters; so compared to the original cooling system the current one stops heat loss
The current cooling system permanently assures an optimum running temperature of the Diesel Traction Engine
The current cooling system decreases the gas emissions and lossing of lubricating oil
The consumed energy by the current ventilation system is directly proportional to the coolant temperature of the Traction Diesel Engine
The current ventilation system removes the heat loss by the grill shutters and keeps in a warm state the Traction Diesel Engine
Starting and stopping of the current cooling system depend only on the operating temperature of the Traction Diesel Engine and absolutely not at all by the human operator.

Abstract:
During running in IDLE mode the average of diesel consumption decreases at least 50%
The maintenance costs of the Traction Diesel Engine decrease by 30%
The locomotive service time between 2 scheduled revisions increases by 20%
As a consequence of the decreasing of diesel and lubricating oil consumption the gas emissions decrease, too
The average recovery period of the investment is about 12 months.
